QA Manager Summary
Optaros is currently looking for a QA Manager with at least 8 years experience to join our Client Delivery team. The goal of this team is to provide high-performance, high-availability applications to our global clients. Optaros will provide training on our clients and specific technologies.

Primary Role Responsibilities
The QA Manager integrates QA activities and mind-set throughout the software development lifecycle and into the Optaros methodology.
This experienced manager will develop, manage and evolve comprehensive QA programs that address all aspects of testing: unit testing, regression testing, usability testing, system testing, security testing, integration testing, stress and load testing, platform testing, etc. in support of Optaros assembly/development efforts.
The QA Manager will work in close partnership with the QA Lead, as well as with project managers, business analysts, designers and developers across multiple projects worldwide to ensure Optaros-assembled software meets standards and customer expectations by creating industry-standard metrics and reports to demonstrate and track progress during development and testing.
Responsibilities include:
- Growing existing QA strategy to encompass best practices of agile testing and ensure highest possible project quality
- Working with senior management team and cross-functional project teams to ensure implementation of the overall QA strategy
- Presenting QA strategy and process to clients and internal teams
- Working closely with the QA Lead to grow the QA team and ensure the team encompasses the skills needed to execute the strategy
- Developing internal and external training plans for the QA team
- Working closely with the QA Lead to implement the QA strategy in day-to-day operations
- Create and maintain comprehensive testing metrics and reporting to reflect progress against the overall strategy as well as the success of individual projects
- Helping to coach a team of agile testers, developers and business users toward collaborative, cohesive testing that results in measurable quality improvements across projects.
- Reviewing test plans, staffing, estimates and resource allocation to ensure project success in terms of both quality and budget
- Work with QA Lead, senior management and HR to develop and implement team hiring and management plan
- The QA manager interacts with customers of Optaros as well as internal staff at the manager and director levels.
Role Requirements
- 6 - 8 years of technical development experience, including 4+ years in the QA function, ideally for web/e-commerce applications
- Deep knowledge of quality assurance best practices, processes, tools and standards
- Extensive experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, component assembly and package implementation
- Experience managing and supporting non-co-located and virtual teams
- Successful experience collaborating and working with designers, front-end developers and architects to achieve the best balance between user needs, enterprise requirements and technology constraints
- A solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and multiple relevant technologies (Java, Python, PHP, MySQL, Oracle or similar)
- An understanding of the principles in creating easily modifiable and extensible automated tests
- The confidence to ask the tough questions necessary to ensure continuous improvement
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Ability to manage internal and external resources, including staff in remote locations to execute testing objectives; deliver training as necessary
- Experience selecting and using agile and automated testing tools and frameworks
- Experience participating in the sales process to help position the QA function, as appropriate and to estimate time and cost to perform QA activities for projects
- Must be fluent in English and Romanian, written and verbal communications
